in Education, Counseling Psychology or Social Work
Graduate students in counseling, education, psychology
or social work may apply for practicum positions or field placements
with the Day Treatment, Family
Focused/Infant-Toddler, Chemical
Health, Home Front and Outpatient
programs. These positions offer training experiences in individual,
family and/or group therapy, as well as case management. These services
may be center-based or home-based.
To enhance their training experience, interns
may attend agency clinical
in-services on children's mental health and case consultation meetings.
Additional learning opportunities, subject to
an interns' individual skill level, include: diagnostic assessments,
case management, individual therapy and development of treatment
plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.
Most of Washburn's therapeutic programs are located
at the Minneapolis office, but there are a few Outpatient practicum
placements at the Hopkins and Maple Grove sites.
