Developmental Repair treatment approach highlighted in recent workshop
The National Association of Social Workers – Minnesota Chapter recently offered a workshop with Dr. Anne Gearity regarding the Developmental Repair model used in Washburn Center for Children's Day Treatment program.
Developmental Repair is a treatment approach for young children presenting difficulties with aggression and self regulation. It is also a paradigm shift in how clinicians think about behavior, and change. Several members of Washburn's Day Treatment program assisted Dr. Gearity in talking about the model.
Dr. Gearity, PhD, LICSW is a clinical social worker in independent practice. For the past 15 years she has been actively participating with Washburn Center for children to develop and support new interventions for very at risk children.
