Donor Spotlight: Success Computer Consulting
In 2007, Erik Thorsell’s business was like many others—pushing through a tough economic time. His company, Success Computer Consulting created relationships with several non-profits by managing their software and network services; among those was Washburn Center for Children. These relationships not only helped his company persevere, but started a philanthropic
commitment from his organization.
Thanks to the business from several non-profits, Success Computer Consulting is now thriving. He is even strategically planning to expand his company. “We are so grateful for the relationship we made with
Washburn,” said Erik. “That is why we choose to return the favor.”
Erik had an immediate connection with Washburn because of the staff he met. “Everyone I met at Washburn is passionate about making a difference,” said Erik.
Erik believes in philanthropic practices. His company strives to maximize their donation efforts to benefit non-profit organizations. “I want to be known for the work I have done with non-profits,” said Erik.
In the 2010 inaugural Washburn Games, Erik’s company was the Silver sponsor. “The Washburn Games was a creative way for our company to reach a new audience…I wanted to be a part of that.”
Erik adamantly stands by another philosophy. He realizes the importance of organizations like Washburn, but knows that many people are unaware help is available. By supporting an organization such as Washburn, it allows help to be available to families who are struggling. “Washburn plays a critical role by helping children focus on education and families while they plan for the future,” said Erik.
