Help kids go back to school with the new school supplies!
It may only be summer -- but Washburn is already thinking about the fall and the upcoming school year. Nearly 52% of the children Washburn serves are from families with low incomes. Simple things -- like buying new school supplies -- can be challenging when these families are already stretching their budget thin.
Help children go back to school with the basic school supplies they need. Pick up extra school supplies and drop them off at our Minneapolis office. Items are needed for the Day Treatment program by August 5 for a special "school -- themed" week.
Needed school supplies include:
- Backpacks - preferably no wheels because they don't fit in lockers
- #2 pencils
- Erasers
- Pencil boxes or zippered pencil cases
- Handheld pencil sharpeners with cover for shavings
- Blue or black ink pens
- Glue sticks
- White school glue
- Crayons - 24 pack
- Washable markers
- Colored pens
- Highlighters
- Pocket folders - with and without prongs
- Wide ruled notebooks
- Wide ruled loose-leaf paper
- College ruled notebooks
- College ruled loose-leaf paper
- Composition notebooks
- Watercolor paint sets
- Fiskar scissors
- Rulers (with inches and centimeters)

All donations should be delivered to Rachel Lewis' attention at 2430 Nicollet Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55404. Thank you!
