Washburn Publishes Training Manual on Developmental Repair Model
Washburn recently published a training manual on the Developmental Repair model used in the agency's Day Treatment program. The manual explores an intensive treatment model for working with young children who have experienced complex trauma and have aggressive and disruptive symptoms.
"One child in our program lamented, 'I don't want it to be all my fault,' wrote Dr. Anne Gearity, the author of the manual. "These children cannot be blamed or asked to solve their difficulties alone. Developmental Repair is a framework for interventions that help children access new learning and positive community support so they can heal and grow."
