Master's Level Practicum and Field Placements
Graduate students in counseling, education, psychology, marriage and family therapy or social work may apply for practicum positions or field placements with the Day Treatment, Family Focused/Infant Toddler, Home Front/Case Management, Outpatient and School-based programs. These positions offer training experiences in individual, family and/or group therapy, as well as case management. These services may be center-based, home-based or school-based.
To enhance their training experiences, interns may attend agency clinical in-services on children's mental health as well as case consultation meetings.
Additional learning opportunities, subject to an intern's individual skill level, include: diagnostic assessments, case management, individual therapy and development of treatment plans, progress notes and discharge summaries.
Many of Washburn's therapeutic programs are located at the Minneapolis office, but there are a few Outpatient practicum placements at the Minnetonka and Brooklyn Park offices and at school sites in the metro area.
