Postdoctoral Fellowships
Washburn Center for Children annually accepts three postdoctoral fellows in the Outpatient Department. This position is a one-year, fulltime commitment with an emphasis on clinical experience (including therapy and psychological evaluation), as well as involvement in the internship training program (e.g., supervision of psychology students, facilitating clinical/didactic seminar, helping to interview predoctoral applicants).
Each postdoctoral fellow works at one of Washburn's outpatient clinics in Minneapolis, Minnetonka or Brooklyn Park. Populations served include children, adolescents, and families, and possibly a small number of adult clients. Clients seeking outpatient therapy will present the fellow with a range of mental health challenges, including trauma experience, grieff/loss, depression, anxiety, behavior disorders and family conflict and/or change.
Postdoctoral fellows are offered a competitive salary, full medical and dental coverage, and paid vacation, holiday, and personal/sick days. Interested applicants can send a cover letter, resume, clinical writing sample, and a list of at least three references via e-mail to Jessica Cohen, PhD, LP, by April 1. Applicants will be informed of interview eligibility by April 30. Applicants must have completed their Dissertation or Clinical Research Project by the onset of the fellowship.
The postdoctoral Fellowship runs from approximately September 1 to August 31.
Each year, one postdoctoral fellow will be selected as the Patricia L. Klibanoff Fellow. Learn more about this fellowship, established in 2010.
